Scorpions in the Attic?
They can particularly be an issue in the rocky and more hilly areas of town like West Lake Hills, Bee Caves and similar areas west and southwest of Austin.
They can crawl into a house and will even crawl up into attics and then show up in odd places like sinks, bathroom vents or light fixtures as they move back down into the home.
So one recommended way to help control scorpions is to dust the attic.
Applying a light powder or dust of insecticide in the attic can help control the ones that come inside. Scorpions love to hide during the day and hunt for their food in the evenings. Sometimes they don’t even do that, because they have very slow metabolism and can go over 6 months without food!
So a scorpion treatment should account for that and we always include an attic treatment to help with scorpions. The dusting remains stable and active for longer periods so that they can walk through even if they move months after the treatment.
