Treating Carpenter Ants
Carpenter ants are typically found in wood areas, either natural or man-made. That could be in live or dead trees, inside tree stumps, tree branches, around wood paneling, wood siding, eaves etc.
The best way to treat them is to locate the main nest. They can actually travel from an outside primary nest onto a home, which is usually when people notice them.
Find where they are and then you can ideally handle that specific source or at least apply products such as a spray or bait along any trail between your structure and that nest.
They are typically more active outside later in the day and when temperatures are warmer. You can walk around your home at dusk or even later with a flashlight and sometimes see them crawling onto your structure.
If you see this, it is the best time to treat!
