German Roaches
Common ways they get into a building is when people move. A home or apartment that already has German roaches spreads to one that does not. The roaches or their egg capsules tag along in boxes, appliances, or other things into their new location and they start multiplying.
And unlike outdoor roaches like American, or “tree”, roaches — German roaches really multiply. They can produce 3-6 generations in just one year! This is how a house can get overrun or an apartment complex — with roaches in just one unit — can quickly have a big problem on its hands as they spread from apartment to apartment.
So the first thing to prevent a German roach issue is hygiene and cleanliness. Remove food sources and water sources like dripping faucets, pet dishes with food and water left out and crumbs and food particles.
But German roaches absolutely require treatment. They excel at hiding in the smallest cracks and crevices around bathrooms and kitchens, in particular.
