Rodent Jobs

Some people call and want ongoing rodent treatment, but depending on the situation this may not be needed.

Like most of our work, we handle pest issues you are having now, not an issue you “might” have in the future.

Other companies want to lock you in to a long-term contract and may use scare tactics to do so. This is particularly true for termite and rodent work, which naturally can cause the most alarm to people.

But both rodents and termites are always “out there” living in the environment and aren’t a real concern until they get into or on your home. Then you of course need to treat them.

For rodents like rats or mice, this means exterminating the pest and then sealing up the home against future re-entry. So we set up bait systems in and around the home and once the rat or mouse is handled, we close up any holes that they used to get inside.

Unless you have constant rodent issues or your home can not be sealed, the job is complete. In the unusual case of needing ongoing treatment, or if your home has too many openings or areas to seal, then we may recommend a continued baiting schedule. But that’s not very common.

Instead, like most pest control services, a rodent job can be completed and fully paid for in just two to three weeks, almost always for much, much less than the contracted pest control companies.

If you need a rodent inspection, call us at 512-443-0123 or fill out our website form.

We specialize in long-lasting treatments using products in a way that effectively kills bugs but has no impact on people. No contracts are needed. We treat more than once a year about as often as we skip years between treatments.

Aztec’s philosophy is to provide the most effective pest control service available, having the least negative impact on people and the environment here in Austin, Texas. We use a combination of the least toxic and most effective pest control products available.

We originally offered pest control using only natural, “organic” pest control products. While we still offer that service, we now combine those products with a low-toxicity, odorless, synthetic pyrethrin (crushed chrysanthemum flower), offering a longer-lasting residual effect.
